The Medusa series is an ongoing collection of intricate root tapestries inspired by ephemeral, weightless marine organisms that drift through our oceans. The series spans a variety of sizes, shapes and colours, some of which can be viewed here.
Suspended from the ceiling with monofilament or fastened on long hooks from the wall, this piece appears to float invisibly, as if underwater. Hooks and filaments are supplied.
Woven by Nature
Grass root is cultivated on intricately carved, natural beeswax templates. The plant roots intertwine with each other, creating a robust textile that assumes the shape of the template as it grows.
