Grounded is part of an ongoing exploration that aims to map living root materials as they travel and grow over carefully crafted beeswax templates. The root acts as a living 3D-printer. It seeks out the channels and voids within the template structure, weaving its way through the matrix. The varying translucency and inherent forms become a fossilised record of the root’s journey and struggle for sustenance, turning the subterranean process of search and growth into a source of light.
