Grounded is part of an ongoing exploration that maps living root materials as they travel and grow over carefully crafted beeswax templates.
The root functions as a living 3D-printer, continuously extending and responding to its environment. It seeks out the channels and voids within the template structure, weaving and threading its way through the matrix. The varying translucency and inherent forms become a fossilised record of the plant’s subterranean process of search and growth.
