Rootfull partnered with Purified to grow shoe soles that are designed to align with the earth's natural rhythm, and safely "return to the earth" after their final wear. The collaboration aims to re-interpret post-consumer waste (such as latex outsoles) into a growth mechanism that actively fuels future textile growth, thus closing the loop on natural circularity.

PURIFIED creates stylish, durable sneakers that are entirely plastic-free. They use innovative natural materials and a unique glue-free construction, ensuring their shoes safely decompose and can even enrich the soil. The brand was founded to combat the footwear industry's reliance on toxic materials and landfill waste, offering a truly sustainable alternative.

ROOTFULL® is a creative stu­dio guiding plant root, as it grows, to weave unique artefacts and materials. Living root systems are computation­ally designed into complex lattices, with unprecedented control over their structural and functional properties. Rootfull’s vision is to establish a toolkit and foundational technology for programming living root systems to explore the dynamic plasticity of plant root and the materials it produces. The aim is to extend the limits of 3D printing and usher in a new era of programmable, sustainable design.
