In collaboration with Delyth Fetherston-Dilke.
Rootfull explores the potential for natural fibre upholstery materials that are grown from root.

“The roots grow downwards. Looking for water.
There’s a dynamic plasticity - they change and adapt.”

Living root systems bind with coir, wool, linen, cotton, silk, hessian, seaweed, algae, bio-plastics, felt, metals, paper agricultural waste materials, animal fur and even human hair.

Roots can grow beyond the boundaries of other woven materials that are constrained by warp and weft.
With this collaboration, we temper and fine-tune the growth process into something new.
